John Ireland

John came to SERTC as a full-time Instructor after serving as both a volunteer and career firefighter in the fire service for 29 years (1992 – 2021), retiring at the rank of Captain. His HazMat experience spans 27 years of that career. John also served as chairperson for both the Pueblo HazMat Committee and LEPC. He has been a member of Team SERTC since 2002 as a part-time Instructor, transitioning to his current full-time status in 2023. John currently teaches in all our resident courses, coordinates our Leadership & Management of Surface Transportation Incidents (LMSTI) and all three Surface Transportation Emergency Preparedness and Security (STEPS) courses, of which you may also see him instructing at a course brought to your community.
